My watch doesn't ring when Do Not Disturb or a Focus is on

On your iPhone, open Settings → Focus, choose each Focus you use, tap Apps, and add Nowza to Allow Notifications From. Your watch follows your iPhone by default.

Messages go to the wrong device

Choose where friends ring you in the iPhone app under Settings → When Friends Ring You:

• Apple Watch Only (the default with a watch): only your watch rings.
• Apple Watch, Then iPhone: your watch rings first, and your iPhone rings if you don't answer within 20 seconds.
• iPhone Only: only your iPhone rings.

If the device you chose can't be reached, the other one rings (with Apple Watch Only, your iPhone then rings only while Nowza is open on it). Without an Apple Watch, friends always ring your iPhone.

My iPhone doesn't play messages

In the iPhone app, open Settings and check that When Friends Ring You includes your iPhone and that Allow iPhone to Ring When Locked is on. Messages then play as soon as they arrive, even with your iPhone locked, and you can reply with the Talk button on the Lock Screen. With it off, your iPhone rings only while Nowza is open.

Can anyone else hear my messages?

No. Messages are end-to-end encrypted: only your friend's devices can play them, and our servers can't. If a friend's security code changes (usually because they signed in on a new iPhone), the app tells you once, and marks their messages for a day. It says "Update Nowza" or "Can't reach" a friend

Every message is encrypted, so older versions of Nowza can no longer talk. Update the app on your iPhone and Apple Watch. If a friend can't be reached, they may need to update too, or open Nowza on their iPhone once so their Apple Watch gets its keys.

How do I add a friend?

In the iPhone app, tap Invite a Friend and send the link in Messages. When your friend taps it, the app asks whether to add you. Each invite works once and expires after 7 days.

How do I block or report someone?

In the iPhone app, tap the friend, then Block or Report. Blocking removes them from your friends, and they can't ring you or send you invites.

How do I delete my account?

In the iPhone app, open Settings and tap Delete Account. See the privacy policy for what's deleted.
